It has been an unexpected year for all of us and a time when we have had to change the way we work, live and teach. Since the school closures, we have changed our services to support schools and children through our special parents' content.
While it still remains uncertain as to what school will look like in September, we are continuing to adapt to ensure children have access to the benefits of music education in all eventualities.
Music, along with other creative subjects, have an important role to play in helping children adapt to new situations and challenges. They provide a great outlet to share experiences with others as well as promote positive mental wellbeing throughout these stressful and uncertain times.
Following our teachers' survey in March this year, we are now working to add the following updates listed below to our full school program for this coming September. We hope these updates will make our program even more accessible, engaging and fun for children, teachers and parents.
If your school is interested in signing-up for next year, please email Chris at [email protected] for more information about our curriculum.

1. Content for Parents and Distance Learning
Our parents' content will remain open for all schools signed up to DabbledooMusic to allow parents and teachers to find and assign suitable content.
To compliment our weekly lessons, we have created specially adapted exercises and activities that are suited to home learning should it be required. This includes online content, printable worksheets and hands-on activities.
2. Teacher's Manual
To accompany our weekly lessons and online content for the classroom, we are creating a printable teacher's manual that will detail the content and method of each lesson and provide general advice on teaching music.
Our online lessons will also be adapted to encourage ease of use and flow to lessons when using them in the classroom.
3. Song Singing
We have new video content from children’s choir expert and graduate from the Kodaly Institute in Hungary, Julie Shanley. This content will be designed to help students and teachers warm-up, practice and perform their favourite songs.
We are creating a new video series of selected Irish artists who have recorded special versions of their favourite songs to teach your class. Artists include Radie Peat, Anna Mieke and Irish music legend, Donal Lunny.
4. New Interactive Resources and Lesson Content
We are adding to our online resources and weekly lessons with new and exciting content covering all areas of the music curriculum.
The new content will focus on creating clearer progressions from class to class with more interactive composing, performing and listening activities.
5. Tin Whistle Course
We are adding an amazing resource from expert whistle player and educator Thomas Johnston to our full curriculum content.
This course of video lessons and examples will take you from the basics of tin whistle to playing tunes like Maggie in the Woods and Dawning of the Day.
